About this guide
ADA Sign Guide is a reference for the people who design, fabricate, install and inspect signs. It puts every sign requirement of the 2010 ADA Standards on one site, with the section number beside each figure and a link to the official text.

Method
Each page was written from the source text and checked against it on 2026-09-25. Where a page gives practical advice from sign fabrication and installation, it is marked "From the shop floor" and kept separate from what the Standards require. Where the Standards are silent, the page says so rather than filling the gap.
What this guide is not
It is not legal advice and not a substitute for the Standards or for the code a project is permitted under. The 2010 Standards set the federal minimum; states and cities adopt building codes (usually the International Building Code with ICC A117.1) that can require more. When in doubt, the authority having jurisdiction decides.
